What Does the FranklinWH aGate Do?
Think of the aGate as the energy-management hub for the FranklinWH system. It manages the flow of power between the battery, the home, the grid and supported generation sources. In a properly designed backup system, it also helps isolate the home from the utility during an outage so the backed-up system can operate safely.
The exact configuration matters. Generator integration, load control and other features should only be described on the final proposal when they are part of the approved system design.
FranklinWH for Existing Solar
Because aPower 2 is AC-coupled, it can be a strong retrofit candidate when a homeowner already has a functioning solar inverter or microinverter system. We still verify equipment compatibility, service-panel capacity, utility requirements and the homeowner’s backup goals before selecting the architecture.
Whole-Home Backup and Large Loads
FranklinWH publishes strong continuous and starting-power specifications, but the right number of batteries still depends on the home. We look at air conditioning, pumps, electric water heating, electric cooking, EV charging and the loads that may run at the same time during an outage.
